On speed and rotor position estimation in permanent-magnet AC drives
This letter deals with rotor position and speed estimation of permanent magnet ac drives. Two reduced-order observers, a linear (AO) and a nonlinear one (NLO), are compared. An adaptive speed estimation scheme is also considered. Analysis and simulations show that the NLO has better performance and demands less computational load than the AO plus the adaptive scheme.
متن کاملEstimation of Temperature Rise in Stator Winding and Rotor Magnet of PMSM Based on EKF
Abstract—This paper proposed an estimation approach of temperature rise in stator winding and rotor magnet of a surfaced-mounted permanent magnet (PM) AC motor. By using the 3rd-order extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm in rotating reference frame, stator winding resistance and rotor PM flux-linkage can be estimated independently. After comparing the estimation results of resistance and flux...
متن کاملA Noval Technique for Pmsm Drives to Estimate the High Resolution Rotor Position
This paper gives new technique for estimating the rotor position for PMSM drives with higher accuracy and resolution and also controlling of PMSM motor. There are several techniques for doing same. Some of them are average and first order algorithms. Present technique which is used here is vector tracking observer in conjunction with discrete Hall sensors’ output signals, which is similar to a ...
متن کاملControlled Permanent Magnet Drives
The considered converter-fed permanent magnet motor could alternatively be operated in two basically different states − the vector control mode or alternatively the brushless dc, also known as electronically commutated mode. Several quality aspects concerning the system performance have been comparatively investigated in practical as well as theoretical manner. Focus is thereby given to the num...
متن کاملA minimum-time control strategy for torque tracking in permanent magnet AC motor drives
A minimum-time torque control strategy for permanent-magnet ac motor drives is presented. The proposed solution is obtained by an ad-hoc procedure based on the computation of reachability and controllability sets which in turn requires solving iteratively a fourth-degree polynomial equation. For its efficient implementation an algorithm based on Sturm sequences is proposed. The algorithm has be...
